Guppy Help!!!! 7 Months ago Karma: 0
Hey everyone. i'm a newbie in the world of aquatics, i recently got a 25ltr tank and after getting my water all nice and ready invested in my first ever fish,

i now have 1 male guppy and 2 female guppys! well i think the randy man has had his wicked way the the females ( there bellys have become larger and there is a sort of black dot near there fins) , does this mean they are pregnant?

if so what do i need to do to prepare for the birth.

my water is heated by a 150watt heater, with a 2 stage filter, i also have a small air curtain powered by a small diaphram air pump.

i have 2 fake plants in the tank for "hiding room" with blue gravel.

any advice will be very welcome!

thanks in advance!

Hi Jex,

Well, I guess by now your guppies have given birth. I'm shocked that no one responded to your post on this forum.

How are your guppy fry doing? By now they are probably grown and about to give birth themselves.

I would think they are about to give birth.

Things to do before birth

1. Purchase a 5-10 gallon glass aquarium

2. Purchase a heater rated for your tank size

3. Purchase a air pump and airline tubing rated for your tank size

4. Purchase a sponge filter rated for your tank size

5. Purchase a strip light or LED light

6. Setup tank

7. Place females in the tank

8. After birth remove females and feed fry freshly hatched artemia for about three weeks

9. after the three weeks feed the fry crushed flake food

10. once the fry are big enought place them in the community tank
